After a long time,I 've come across as actress whom i can call a good ACTRESS .Shez got the charm ,petiteness of Katrina..plus a good voice and diction and a loveliness and thats a very diff combo to find these days.Anoushka Sharma -is one brave arrival.Arre shez even done dhoom kind of stunts on bike with srk sitting at the bak.This girl has a very intelligent look on her face....unlike other actresses.And what a fantastic dancer she is.Deepika...aa gaya tera competition...she is as talln lovely as deepika and more flexible.
Yeh srk bhi naa apne se tall heroines ke saath aata hai...kya koi trend set kar raha hai..ki short heroines kaa zammanaa hi gaya.Well but they match..One thing about this movie...we really keep on wanting to know ...end mein kya hoga...almost liek a suspense flick...Arre aajkal toh suspense movie mein bhi easily guess hoo jaata hai..par this movie..then end tak it keptus guessing.Lovely story.The movie has small town richshaws..n our own golden temple..all so lovely...AAjkal swadeshi locales dikhaana hi trend saa ho gaya..Overseas audience India ko itna miss jo kertein hai.This movie..pehle toh pace itna sloow tha art movie ki tarah..phir jo momentum pakda..waah.
Thsi movie has a khasiyat that superficial level par bhi yeh movie relateable hai aur jo script level par depth dhoondhtey hain..even for them theer is a lot in store.LOVE IS GOD...yrf is lately very obseessed with this theme.Whether its in the lyrics of the khudaa jaaney song from their earlier film..which goes..ban gaye ho tum mere khudaa...or the Tujmein rab Dikhta hai song from this movie.Now for the story...srk plays a simpleton Surinder Sahni.A seedha saadha..Punjab Power Employee-a plain,simple guy.He leads a routine life,nothing exciting...no designer attire,no flashy bike ,no gf..in short no girl'sdream man.Arre what details i am giving..itna toh promos se hi pata chal gaya hoga
Jo promos mein nahi dikhaya woh yeh hai ki picture from the very first scene is true to its name...RAB NE BANA DI JODI.Destiny gets him face to face with a girl whom he falls in love at first sight.The story is he goes to attend his professor's daughter's marriage.Srk is teh professor's most ideal student ever.So theer he sees this girl..TAANI dancinghappily on her own wedding day.Calamity strikes,baraatis bus mishap..no survivors...professor has a massive heart attack..and a s his last wish asks srk to take care n marry that girl..(omg..from Nassir hussain to alok naath..why do all these situation kill these with dil ka daura)(n please its the new age..can ppl be stronger)
0k cut to Amritsar..surinder sahani brings the reluctant sad ..not warmed up to him bride home.so what pyaar after marriage..arre woh bhi aur badi mazedaar story
Now i really dont know how the multiplex audience will react to this simple story...but hey..everyone is from humble baground...westernization toh ab hua hai nah India ka..so at heart I hope the story will touch all
To recover from boredom..Taani joins dance classes..shez always loved dancing.N we all know srk loves Taani.surinder sahani loves taani n wants him to love her.He is adamant about her loving him as surinder sahani the simpleton.But still the desire to be loved in return peaks so high that his friend bobby( a stylist played by the very talented Vinay Pathak)decides to transform him.
So our swades ka srk is transformed in kkhh ka srk..ok Bobby gives a Raj makeover to srk..complete with spiked hair..a bike..zany jeans..tight tshirt..stylish shoes..a jatt accented in english and a raw flirtish charm.Surinder Sahani tranforms into Raj..every girls hero.he also joins dance classes which Taani has...but then he is suri...so hez the clumsy dancer n he ...taani finds irritating.(Its soo cute suri himself finds the tight dressing uncomfortable..u have to see this film)
All this Suri does to be Taani's dream man..to see her laugh again.Raj says things like ..his good bye line.."not kank..but humhai rahi pyaar ke phir milengey chalte chalte.".but then when Suri comes home he is Suri not Raj.So the wife doesent know Raj is Suri.lol.(kamaal hai..dressing sense badal lene se baal spike karke..mooch katwaa lene se aadmi pehchaan mein nahi aata..but ill giv it to cinematic liberty..)
Raj finds a place of a friend in Taani's lonely bored heart.She has him for his dance partner..helps him in overcoming his non dancer's problem..n they get selected for the competition.they even have a gol gappa competitionto celebrate the selection.which obviously srk wins n then as teh bet..Taani has to do something for srk.Hey the night that they have a thousand golgappas..burps galore...both of them..but srk has to go home n be Suri..poor guy he has to even eat the biryaani that Taani lovingly cooks..that nite Suri realises..pyaar mein even stomach has to overfill n suffer..."yeh pyaar insaan se kya kya nahi karwaata"
Raj soon confesse his love to Taani.she says shez married.the way he confesses n the reason he gives for confessing it this way havent been done in hindi cinema bfor..Now since srk in the movie works for the electricity board..he gets certains areas power cut off so that the on areas lights form a i love u when seen from a hight point in the city..And Raj says.."jaat hoon jab kuch karne jaata hoon ultaa hi nikalta hai...toh maine socha full amritsar se hi dil ki baat kehelwaa loon."
Raj tells her he sees rabb in Taani so he loves her.Taani learns from him how to be happy even if u dont get your love.
Then Raj tells Taani to run away with him n she agrees cos she says shez had enuff pain now.
The next day she goes to a fair with her hubby Suri srk...there srk fights a sumo wrester and wins by fluke( though with hurts) n wins japan tikets.Taani gets very angry but she doesent see the point that he did it for her.Cos she had stopped and looked happy at a japanese stall in the fair n then he thot...he cant afford a fare to Japan he can at least do this.
Before the comeptition actual day...Taani goes to the Golden temple..fighting with her thoughts about how can one see god in her when she has never seen it in anyone...suddenly suri srk...walks in front of her eyes...kahatam..that moment...it dawns on her...EVERYTHING..realisation..he is her RABB..her god..the man who just gave her happiness in return for all the sadness she gave him
The man who held her hand when she was helpless n alone
The man who did all this and never expected anything in return
This one scene when the song.."tujhmein mujhe rabb dikhta hai" starts.....that scene is soo well written n so brilliantly movingly acted by this newcomer heroine of the movie...n the way she says,,,,"WOh duniya ke liye ek mamooli aadmi hain..parr mujhe unmein rabb dikhta hai."
She conveys all these thots to Raj n says she can't run away from this man who is her god n she cant run away from her rabb...some heavy duty philosophising there. srk..is like acting point of view also he did not know whetehr he should potray happiness as suri as sadness as Raj...but srk is srk...he totally did it ..that scene was his forte...
Competition ki raat..still she doesent know suri is raj ..they call out raj..he doesent come...she thinks hes upset n wont come.
But who comes instead....SRK...suri get up waala srk
PICTURE ka sabse accha song srk ne suri ke attire mein kiya...waahhh
she is zapped...saame dance moves..omg raj is her suri..she does such abstract dancing...all connections come in her thots..his struggling with food on gol gappa nite...his sneezing on the nite raj dropped her in rain...Raj is suri..Ok then they win the contest as mr n mrs suri.lol.
Ho gaya picture ka the end...phir kya tha they both went to a japanese honeymoon..u know why..
U know in teh movie i found three things very jarring..the over punjabi accent srk put on his hindi as the jatt Raj...was very irritating just like aamir's irritating similar accent in RDB
Then this srk...masti hai par woh Hrithik ka maazaaak udaaney ka koi mauka nahi chodta...they have a scene a spoof on hrithik's "hide n seek" biscuit ad where hrithik fights goons with a girl.
The that song which srk sings..teh dream sequence of Taani..where srk sings one song of each era..that song was bad music..bad lyrics..bad dancing...a very bad mix n mash of the "dil chahta hai'..all eras song n oso multiple actors song...that song fell flat on its nose...n the only thing that saved the song from falling flat on its face was the one minute appearence of Kaajol in that song....She is soo vibrant and beautiful...uski aur srk ki thank god rabb ne bana di joodi
See this movie if you want a nice story n if u r a fan of dancingn or if u wanna be an Anoushka faan.And of course if u r a srk fan.I think that will cover 99 percent of the world..all will anyways see it.
